In my recent readings, I have become acutely aware of how lucky I have been in my life as a transgender person.  Most are not.

My ideas for graduate school research topics continue to evolve.  This week it is Gender Terrorism: Reinforcing the Dichotomous Gender Construct Through Coercion, Ridicule, Ostracism and Violence in Conservative Family Structures and the Educational System.  My ability to use social science-specific language will continue to develop as time goes on.  I have learned so much already.

We live in a punitive, intolerant culture in many regards.  You only escape harassment and violence if you conform to an unrealistic ideal that a very small percentage of people actually fit into.  The fallacies about America and "freedom" that I was taught as a child have been forever shattered.

All of this, though, is Spirit continuing to "work it out."  Transcend and include.  Transcend and include.
