God and Buddha – Part 2
Note: Very little of this is direct quoted, and some of it is interpreted through my frame.
Robert Thurman:
The established order does not want people to think originally. What did “they” give Socrates? A hemlock milkshake. Why? The established order wants people to work not think.
Secularism and the broad pretensions of science are not really believed on the planet anymore. What people call fundamentalism is asserting itself very strongly due to disillusionment with the idea that modern technology trumps Spirit. As the rise of fundamentalism peaks, there is great danger of pre-conventional mindsets using post-conventional weapons to annihilate humanity. The solution is to take our ingenuity and our technology to project Buddha (Spirit) over the airways to bring about collective spiritual awareness and cooperation. Those of us that are post-conventional have a responsibility of saving the planet from fundamentalists that would destroy others, and in the process, themselves (think massive nuclear holocaust).
Deepak:
We must not allow the schism between science and religion to continue.
Contrary to original empirical science, we now know that subject and object are inextricably linked together.
Robert:
Heisenberg’s Uncertainty principle: The subjectivity is warping the objectivity in observing it. The idea that the observer was outside of the observed manifested in the Enlightenment in the attempt to get away from the barbarism and oppression of the Church.
The ultimate scientific use of language is mantra. This mantra is where word is co-created with form.
The enlightened individual takes responsibility for co-creating reality with God (as an aspect of God).
Deepak:
This idea of co-creation is very important.

Deepak:
And remember, these nurturing beings are aspects of ourselves. Quotes Rumi: When I die, I shall soar with angels. And when I die as an angel, what I shall become you cannot imagine.
Robert:
Rumi inspired Roosevelt who said that there is nothing to fear but fear. With fear, we will destroy ourselves, but with love…
Me:
With love, we will change the world. Watch.
At the very least, I will change MY world into one in which love flows freely within me and between me and others.
I loved this discussion between Robert and Deepak. I saw it on DVD. Thank you for spreading these messages!
