Daily Wisdom from Ram Dass

I am a member of Ram Dass’ online sangha, and I recently signed up for e-nuggets of “daily wisdom.” I will not post many of these because they are part of a membership ($9/month). This one really struck a chord, though, and I thought it might help others, too.

From the soul’s point of view, its curriculum has two components to it. First, it’s working with its incarnation. It sees, ultimately, that Buddha was absolutely right on – that the clinging of the mind, the attractions and the aversions of the mind, are what juice the whole ego system, and the suffering and the whole schtick. Second, as it gets lighter, not through avoidance, but lighter through harmoniously fulfilling one’s dharma – fulfilling one’s stuff on Earth, hearing your uniqueness and manifesting, just not getting caught in it – then the soul’s initial business comes to light, which is its relationship to the One or to the Om. It’s the relation of the soul to the mystery. That ultimately is the only game in town.
